Install GtkOrphan - Remove Orphaned Libraries In Ubuntu

In this tutorial I will teach you how install a nice graphical tool that is used to find and remove orphaned libraries from your Ubuntu machine. The tool we will install in this tutorial is called GtkOrphan. It is similar to deborphan but it adds the package removal capability.

How does GtkOrphan work

It scans your debian system for orphaned libraries and removes them when you tell it to do so.

How to install GtkOrphan in Ubuntu 12.04 LTS

1. Open a new terminal (CTRL+ALT+T)

2. Install GtkOrphan with the following command.

sudo apt-get install gtkorphan
